The latest issue of the REVIEW, covering the 2014/15 season, is now out and is the 28th in the annual series.
Sales of the dropped a little last year and as always publicising that the REVIEW actually exists is an ongoing issue. Despite having been around since 1988, many people still arenít aware of its existence despite my best efforts. I am grateful to anyone who can help with any publicity and anyone who can perhaps sell a few copies should get in touch with me - a good commission is available and I pay the postage costs too, so you canít lose out. Please do what you can to spread the word through your club (perhaps on the club website or in the match programme) or to your friends.
There will definitely be a REVIEW again next year, but rising costs and the end of an outlet which took a large number of the copies printed (and then distributed them to clubs) means that I will have, very reluctantly, to raise the cover price to four pounds for next year. This is the first increase since 1998 !!!
I am also running a special offer where you can buy forty-seven of my publications for just £100, which also includes UK postage. This includesd all SNLR back issues and 20 other publications of my choice.
Next years edition of the REVIEW will be £4 with postage and packaging charges remaining at 90p. Anyone ordering in advance will have their copy sent out immediately upon publication in July 2016
There are no plans for any other publications in the meantime, but research work still continues on the pre-1950 era of the Scottish Junior Cup and although there are no definite dates for any further publications in the series there has been more work done in the past year.
My current "queries" list of missing information can be emailed upon request and is also available to view on Brian McCollís excellent Scottish Football Historical archive website.
Have a look, as there is a great deal of other information on the history of Scottish football there, most of it shared by various researchers and updated and added to constantly.
