Ardrossan Winton Rovers
Winton's Warm Welcome
COMMITTEE members of Ardrosaan Winton Rovers are making plans for a future that involves the whole community.
They will be doing this by having an upgrae of facilities including the showers, dressing rooms, disabled toilets, the playing surface at Winton Park and a new security system.
A recent meeting was held in the Michael Lynch centre involving Cunningham Housing Association, Pat Breen Roofing, William Brown Paiters and Alistair McKenzie Builders.
Winton Chairman Dougie Rae explained "We are talking to local businesses and groups to get them along as it doesn't make sense for the park to be utilised for 40 days in a year."
"These Businesses, along with other individuals have committed to support, advise and be involved in this ambitious challenge, while others will be involved in the three phases of the stand rebuil."
"We will be improving Winton Park, involving the community of Ardrossan, and the stand will become more than just a place to watch football on a Saturday."
"Team performances will be better as we also want to attract more people to the games and enjoy the football as well as what we are going to have available."
Dougie added that special hospitality days will be organised on match days and other social functions will take place at Winton Park to fund the planned revamp.
Already there have been pre-match events that have involved ex-players and many old friends and colleagues have been reunited as a result. Anyone who would like to get involved should call 01294 466 347.
